Dr. Codner is a Full Professor at the University of Chile.  Dr. Codner has developed a unique line of research that has evaluated ovarian function and reproductive abnormalities in adolescents with and without type 1 diabetes. The studies published by this group have helped to understand the relationship between diabetes and gonadal function. In addition, this research has aided in understanding ovarian function in healthy girls.
 Prof. Codner was a member of the editorial team of the 2018 and 2022 ISPAD Guidelines, served as Associate Editor of Pediatric Diabetes, and has been a member of several editorial boards, a reviewer of scientific journals, and a member of the advisory board of prestigious medical societies.
